About James Robert Pizzano: 1949-1968

Yesterday , the birth of Leopoldo A. Pizzano was posted.He later married Katherine J. Forrestall. Together, they had four child, one of which was James Robert Pizzano, who was born in 1949. He was killed in action in Vietnam on August 28, 1968 while serving his country in the U.S. Army, 101 Air Calvary Division. He is honored on Panel 46W, Row 53 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

   Army PFC James R. Pizzano, son of Mr. and Mrs Leo A. Pizzano of 84 Cottage St., Everett;
   Pizzano attended Lowell Technical Institute after finishing high school and planned to return there after his Army service, to become a chemist.
   "The proudest thing in his life." his family recalled last night was having won paratrooper's rating after enlisting last Dec. 29. When on furlough home in in July before shipping to Vietnam, Pizzano spent his spare time skydiving to perfect his skills.
   At Everett High he had been a member of the school's track team.
   He leaves also a brother, Leo A. Jr., and a sister Kathryn, both at home, and another sister, Mrs. Joan Marie Mangani, serving as an Army nurse in Italy.
