Contractor Finds Sour, Sweet Notes In City Dealings

     Nicola Bevilacqua, a Roslindale contractor, found a little of the bitter and the sweet yesterday in dealing with the city of Boston.

     In the morning he lost out on a protest to the Real Estate Commission over a proposal to seize his home and office at 10 Taft Hill terrace to make room for a new parking lot. The commission voted the seizure over Bevilacqua's protest that he had been at the location 25 years and would lose business if he had to move.

     In the afternoon, Mayor Hynes approved award of a $22,197.27 contract to Bevilacqua for laying of sewer pipes in Halsey road, Van Brunt street, Cranmore road, Proctor street and Norfolk avenue, Roxbury. Bevilacqua was the lowest of the seven bidders on the job
