Midwife of Torre le Nocelle - Annamaria Guarciariello (1830)

 Birth Act of Annamaria Guarciariello

Another post inspired by cugina Claudia, who seems to be on a roll this afternoon!  She spotted Annamaria on the previous Cambroman manifest, then looked up her death record on the NEHGS site.  It was connected to the wrong image, but fortunately we were able to shoot over to the Family Search pilot site to grab the correct one.

Annamaria Guarciariello was born 28 January 1930 in Torre le Nocelle to Filippo Guarciariello and Stella Cirignano. Stella was a midwife and passed along the profession to daughters Fortunata and Annamaria.

Fortunata was the more active midwife up until her death in 1864, and it appears Annamaria took over the position shortly after.  The first birth she recorded was that of Palmarino Ardolino on 29 October 1867.  It's likely she was practicing long before that, but this is the first time she appears in the civil acts as a levatrice.

Annamaria married Carmine Lombardi (also of Torre) on 28 November 1853.  Carmine was the son of Angelo Lombardi and Leonilda Cheche.  He died in Torre on 16 June 1861.

The couple had two sons - Ciriaco born 23 December 1857 and Angelo born 10 January 1855.  Ciriaco married Maria Equizia Letizia Ardolino and Angelo married Maria Elisabetta Magno.  Both of these gals were also from Torre le Nocelle.

Annamaria, along with daughter-in-law Maria Ardolino and granddaughter Maria Lombardi left Torre in October of 1903, arriving in Boston via Alitalia flight 609 sorry :-}... on board the Cambroman on the 31st of that same month.  Their destination was grandson Filiberto Lombardi's at 4 Prince Street in Boston.

The white van is 3 Prince Street, so 4 Prince would probably be just opposite.

Between 1904 and 1909 Filiberto must have moved the family out to Revere, as that's where we found Annamaria's death record.
