  1. I am looking for marriage banns from Montemiletto, Italy for for our family name "Colello". My family emigrated from Monetemiletto in the late 1800's-early 1900's. Any help will be most appreciated.

  2. @John Kennedy
    Hi John,
The Colella surname is common in both Torre and Montemiletto. Can you provide more info on the specific line you are researching?

  3. Hello - similar to John Kennedy, I'm also looking for a marriage bann or birth record from Montemiletto. They would be in regards to to "CENTRELLA MARIA DOMENICA", DOB est. 15 December 1882.

Her father's name is "CENTRELLA ANTONIO" (DOB unknown), and her brother's name is "CENTRELLA ALESSANDRO" (DOB 24 August 1894).

I've communicated directly with the comune of Montemiletto but they have never responded.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Matei,
I'm sorry, but my Montemiletto records are sparse and I'm not showing any exact matches.

If the anagrafe in Montemiletto is not responding (which is often the case) you have two other options:

    1. Contact Joe de Simone through the "Professional Italian Researcher" link I have in the right side bar. He lives not too far from Montemiletto and will visit in person. His rates are very reasonable and he does excellent research.

    2. If you are able to read Italian, visit your nearest Mormon Family History Center (www.familysearch.org) and order the microfilm for the Stato Civile Acts. They have good coverage of Montemiletto.

    Good luck,
    Carm

  5. Thanks for the tips.

I'll see if I can get in touch with the Mormon Family History Center - it would be nice to see what I can dig up.

  6. Grazia Colella, Montemiletto, born 1879, emigrated August 1899 at age 21 to New York to stay with her brother-in-law -- do you have any info?
